Below is a montage of many 'film noir' films for students to get a feel for the texture and themes associated with that genre from the 1940s and 1950s.
Below is a video created to show some of the films of the 30s that influenced the MPAA in creating a 'voluntary' code of standards which limited what films of that era could say or exhibit. It was referred to as the Hays Code.

Below are 2 examples of student work who teamed up to make films rather than write a term paper. Students were given film styles, and tips on composition in the frame.
Before proceeding with their projects, students turned in scripts, storyboards and outlines of structure before proceeding to the shooting phase. Those films are entitled Pancakes, and Love, Education and I.
The third movie is an example of Art Students in their animation classes. Students with skills in animation, After Effects, Soundbooth, Final Cut, Premiere, and using cameras, sets, and costumes that they designed created a film short entitled Cling
