  8. Rear Window and the MLA Style of writing a Paper

Above is a link to a PDF which will guide you through writing a paper in the MLA format that I require. It also contains clues on what to look for when watching the movie "Rear Window" when you compare it with "Disturbia." Remember, the other two films that you may compare, if you wish, are the movies "'The Maltese Falcon'" and "Brick." If you need assistance with your paper, be sure to visit the writing lab. There are tutors there that will assist you.

Below is a video created to show some of the films of the 30s that influenced the MPAA in creating a 'voluntary' code of standards which limited what films of that era could say or exhibit. It was referred to as the Hays Code.

Student's Movie Examples

Below are 2 examples of student work who teamed up to make films rather than write a term paper. Students were given film styles, and tips on composition in the frame.

Before proceeding with their projects, students turned in scripts, storyboards and outlines of structure before proceeding to the shooting phase. Those films are entitled Pancakes, and Love, Education and I.

The third movie is an example of Art Students in their animation classes. Students with skills in animation, After Effects, Soundbooth, Final Cut, Premiere, and using cameras, sets, and costumes that they designed created a film short entitled Cling
